makes me crazy. I keep forgetting my password, and every time I log in and respond to a thread I forget that IE doesn't work. So I have to start all over with Firefox. But I can't read the damn captchas. Took me like ten tries to log in this last time. I hate those newfangled captchas. Would be nice if there was a better way. |

Took me like ten tries to log in this last time. I experience the same thing. Unfortunately, many sites are resorting to the Capcha verification but this site has chosen the worst scheme I've seen. Some of the characters are horribly illegible. There is an option to have the Capcha re-issue another two word phrase. If you don't like that one simply click for another. That's what I do until I can read each and every letter / number / special character combination -- then I enter those and cross my fingers. I know it's taken me up to some 20 or more times. For standard use of this forum, however, I and most (I'm sure) don't go through a login. There's a check box that we use -- "Keep me logged in" -- or some such. Use that and you may be able to go for months without a login. Keep in mind, however, that each time you clear your browser cache, including "cookies", that event removes the very file that "Keep me logged in" uses. Next time you'll have to login from scratch.
